New common carp world record

The 33-year-old caught the massive fish, known as Mary at 86lb 6oz, from an undisclosed lake in his homeland after taking a few tips from his brother, Emir, who banked the historic specimen himself in 2007.

 Environmental agency introduces a new look rod licence for 2009

The Environment Agency has ditched the old fashioned paper licence and opted for a modern water resistant credit card sized licence, creating the look and feel of a club membership card. Drawn by Wales based artist David Miller, the coarse fishing licence features a perch lunging for a baited hook, the licences feature fewer personal details on them, to reduce the risk of identity fraud should the licence be lost or stolen. The new licences are still available through the Post Office, on-line, over the telephone and by direct debit, but will no longer be issued on the spot. Instead, each customer will be given a unique reference number at the point of sale, which will allow them to fish immediately. The licence will arrive in the post within seven days.

The most well known carp in the uk and the biggest common carp, died recently from unboiled penuts, which is tragic and has led to penuts being band at lots of fisheries around the country.

Carp world record has been broken

Andy Komornicki, a cargo agent at London’s Heathrow airport, has landed a new world record 91 lb mirror carp known as The Scar.

Andy used a Greys 12ft 6in 3lb TC Platinum rod, with a Daiwa 5000T reel loaded with a 17lb Korda Adrena line, 25lb Kryston Snake-Bite hooklength, a Korda size 4 longshank hook fished blowback style on a 1.5in hair. Bait was a Baitcraft T1 boilie.
